Chase has unveiled a few updates to its Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, including new card art and a statement credit-earning opportunity.

The details

New and existing cardmembers can select a brand-new Whole Foods Market card art, and new cardholders can receive a $100 statement credit after spending $100 at Whole Foods Market now through March 3, 2021.

In order to receive the statement credit, you must have an eligible Amazon Prime membership and make at least $100 in Whole Foods purchases on your Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature within two months of account opening. The Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature’s standard welcome offer—a $70 Amazon gift card gifted upon approval for the card—still stands; new applicants have the choice between receiving the original offer and the Whole Foods Market credit.

Existing cardmembers can call and request the new Whole Foods Market card art starting Jan. 22, 2021, and new cardmembers can select their design during the application process.

A closer look at the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card

The Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature is a no-annual-fee cash back credit card that requires cardmembers to have an Amazon Prime subscription in order to reap the card’s highest rewards.

Cardmembers with an eligible Amazon Prime membership get:

  • 5 percent cash back at Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market
  • 2 percent back at restaurants, gas stations and drugstores
  • 1 percent back on everything else.

The 5 percent category drops to 3 percent for cardmembers without an eligible Prime membership, and as noted above, new cardmembers traditionally receive a $70 Amazon gift card upon approval.

Is the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card right for you?

If you aren’t an Amazon Prime member and don’t plan on becoming one, it’s best you consider other rewards credit cards that can provide higher rates of cash back for your spending and a more generous welcome bonus.

Though if you frequently make purchases on Amazon.com or at Whole Foods Market—from groceries to birthday gifts to household oddities—having this card in your collection will surely be rewarding.
