Automated teller machines are everywhere, because that’s what we demand. A 2016 Federal Reserve Board report found that 75% of American bank account holders had used an ATM in the past 12 months.
To cater to ATM-loving customers, banks have built vast networks of the machines; there are now more than 100,000 bank-owned ATMs in the U.S. alone, according to PaymentsSource, a publication that analyzes the payment industry.
Of course, some banks have more than others. Here are the banks that PaymentsSource says have the highest numbers of active ATMs in the U.S., counting down to the institution with the largest network.
