New airline transfer partners
Capital One has announced that they will be partnering with airlines around the globe. Cardholders earn 2x miles per dollar spent and beginning in December, can use the new Miles Transfer benefit to maximize those miles to go even further.
New partnerships with 12 travel loyalty programs, including:
- Aeroplan (Air Canada)
- Cathay Pacific
- Etihad Airways
- EVA Air
- Flying Blue (Air France and KLM)
- Hainan Airlines
- Qatar Airways
Additional partnerships are in the works, and Capital One is increasing the list on an ongoing basis.
Improved points valuation
The transfer benefit will allow cardholders to book airline award tickets, access points transfer promotions from their favorite airlines, upgrade flights and maximize their redemption value. The Miles Transfer launch will be available to VentureOne, Spark Miles and Spark Miles Select cardholders as well. The addition of the Miles Transfer program significantly boosts the redemption value of the card’s points. The Points Guy has boosted the valuation from 1 cent per mile to 1.4 cents per mile.
Apply now or regret it later
The Ventures team is celebrating this big news with a generous limited time offer for new cardholders who apply through the Capital One website or at The Points Guy: a 50,000-mile bonus for new cardholders who spend $3,000 in the first three months. Members who use the Venture Card’s Purchase Eraser can use those bonus points for a minimum of $500 toward travel expenses – flights, hotels, rental cars and more. Cardholders who choose to transfer those points to one of the new airline partners could unlock even more value.
