If you’re in the market for a credit card, CardMatch is a great tool to use in your search. Easy to navigate and designed to provide personalized offers, CardMatch can give you access to prequalified or preapproved credit card deals and potentially even better bonus offers than those available to the general public.

The best part is, checking offers on CardMatch won’t knock any points off your credit score. That’s because the tool only triggers a soft inquiry on your credit report, and you’ll only face a hard inquiry if you move forward with an application.

Since CardMatch is easy to use and may leave you with more points in the end, it makes sense to use it each time you plan to apply for a credit card. Keep reading to learn how the tool works and the best CardMatch offers to watch for right now.

What is CardMatch? The details

CardMatch is a service offered by Bankrate that matches users with personalized credit card offers based on their credit profile. The tool can match you with credit card offers that you have a good chance of being approved for, including targeted introductory bonuses and special offers.

Since using the platform only requires a soft pull, your credit score won’t be impacted. There’s no obligation to apply for any of the offers you’re matched with, and there’s no fee to use the CardMatch service.

Types of offers you can find using CardMatch

At the moment, some of the major issuers on CardMatch include American Express, Citi and Chase. Offers you can find are targeted to your individual profile, so they can vary dramatically from person to person.

With that being said, you may find offers for some of the best travel and rewards credit cards if you use the tool, and they may even include more generous sign-up bonus offers than you can’t find elsewhere. You can also use CardMatch to connect with the best balance transfer offers on the market today.

How CardMatch can be beneficial to potential cardholders

CardMatch is a useful tool for a few reasons, including the fact that it can help you compare an array of credit card offers all in one place. CardMatch also matches customers with credit cards they are likely to be approved for based on their credit score and other factors. Just keep in mind that matching through CardMatch does not guarantee approval; it only shows you are likely to be approved if you take the steps to apply.

Finally, we mentioned already how CardMatch often has better bonus offers than you can find elsewhere. That’s because CardMatch offers are prescreened and tailored to your credit profile. If you meet certain criteria set by the cardholder, you could be eligible for a higher welcome bonus, a rewards spending bonus or other targeted perks.

Current offers to consider in CardMatch

While you may not be eligible for all the best CardMatch offers, some exceptional deals you could be matched with are detailed below.

Earn up to 125,000 points with the American Express Platinum

Targeted offers via CardMatch vary from user to user and may change every time you check the platform. For those reasons, you might not be able to find the exact offers described below.

Still, it might be a good idea to check your matches for excellent intro bonus offers like this one we recently found for 125,000 Membership Rewards points.

You could also be matched with an offer for 100,000 Membership Rewards points on The Platinum Card® from American Express with this tool. Keep in mind that both offers also give you 10x points on up to $15,000 in combined spending at U.S. gas stations and U.S. grocery stores for six months. That makes this card an exceptional option for travel, but also a great credit card for groceries or gas.

Earn up to 75,000 points with the Amex Gold

Another possible offer is 75,000 American Express Membership Rewards points on the American Express® Gold Card—provided you can spend $4,000 on your card within six months of account opening. This card also gives you 4X points on up to $25,000 spent at U.S. grocery stores each year, as well as 4x points on dining at restuarants, making it a smart card choice for foodies.

Earn up to 180,000 with Hilton Honors American Express Surpass Card

If you’re in the market for a hotel card, you could qualify for a superior offer for the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card by using the CardMatch tool. This offer could grant you up to 180,000 Hilton Honors points if you can spend $2,000 on your card within three months of account opening (with an additional 50,000 points after you spend a total of $10,000 in purchases on the card in the first six months). Another offer for 130,000 Hilton Honors points and one free weekend night award may also be available.

Other offers on CardMatch

Besides these incredible deals, there are other great offers you can find on the platform. For example, we recently came across a 45,000 Membership Rewards points bonus on American Express® Green Card (after spending $2,000 in the first three months) and an increased cash bonus on the American Express Cash Magnet® Card.

Note that such offers can be found under a “special offer” flag on CardMatch, meaning you might not be able to find them outside of the platform.

You also might notice a “prequalified offer” flag next to some of the offers. This means that you have a great chance of getting approved for the card. It’s important to remember, however, that approval is not guaranteed even with this type of offer.

How to check for targeted offers on CardMatch

Checking for targeted offers on CardMatch is a breeze. To use the tool, all you have to do is head to the CardMatch page on the Bankrate website and prepare to share some of your personal information before creating an account.

From there, you’ll enter information like your name, your address and the last four digits of your Social Security number before being shown prescreened credit card offers targeted to your profile. You also have an option to opt-in and receive information about card offers in the future, as well as other useful information on credit scores and credit card news.

Going forward: Come back to CardMatch regularly

An important detail to keep in mind about the CardMatch tool is the fact your offers can and likely will change over time. For example, you could easily see new and better offers if your credit score goes up over time or if credit card issuers roll out new targeted bonus offers.

With this in mind, you should probably check in with CardMatch at least once per month. Since you won’t get a hard inquiry on your credit report for using the tool, there’s no reason not to.

The bottom line

Since the CardMatch tool can match you with better credit card offers than you can find elsewhere on the web, it’s worth using any time you plan to apply for a new credit card. And since your offers could change over time, you might want to plan a day every few months to explore your options.

Doing so could mean getting better bonus offers and more perks than you could otherwise, and the process only takes a few minutes.
