Key takeaways
- The Venture X Business offers the same excellent rewards rate, generous statement credits and modest annual fee as the personal Venture X Rewards.
- Unique features to the card include a strong signup bonus and free employee cards.
- Unlike the personal Venture X, the Venture X Business is a charge card, so cardholders will need to pay their balance in full each month.
- The Venture X Business offers a powerful alternative to more expensive luxury business travel credit cards.
Capital One launched its newest business card today, the Capital One Venture X Business Rewardsâ„¢ card*. The new offering shares much in common with the lauded Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, a personal card, including its generous features and statement credits, while offering a few extra features business owners should find valuable.
In truth, this isn’t the first time the world has seen the Venture X Business card. Capital One launched the Capital One Spark Travel Elite* in 2022, which shared most of the same features as the Venture X Rewards. However, the Spark Travel Elite was available on a far more limited basis: to apply, business owners had to speak with their Capital One relationship manager. With the release of the Venture X Business, all businesses can now apply for this lucrative travel card.
Capital One Venture X Business Rewards credit card details
The Venture X Business shares much in common with the excellent Venture X Rewards card. It earns 5X miles on flights and 10X miles on hotels and car rentals booked through Capital One Travel, as well as 2X miles on all other purchases. Business owners will pay a $395 annual fee to use the card, but the Venture X Business also comes with a $300 annual travel credit and a 10,000-mile annual bonus, worth roughly $100 on travel.
Capital One supplements this baked-in value with a few other travel features you’d expect from a high-class travel card, including Capital One and Priority Pass™ lounge access and up to $100 in statement credits for a TSA PreCheck® or Global Entry application fee.
The Venture X Business’s main differences from the personal version of the card are its welcome offer and APR. It features a generous welcome offer of 150,000 miles once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months from account opening, compared to the Venture X Rewards’ 75,000 miles for $4,000 in spending in the same time period. At 150,000 miles, the Venture X Business edges out the welcome offer of its closest competitor, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express.
Finally, the Venture X Business is a charge card, unlike the Venture X Rewards. This means business owners will need to pay off their purchases at the end of each month.
How does the Venture X Business stack up?
Business owners looking for a travel rewards card with big value for little investment will find a lot to love with the Venture X Business. The generous rewards rate makes it one of the most flexible travel rewards cards available to business owners and is especially valuable for businesses that expect to take full advantage of the 2X miles on general purchases.
Here’s a look at how the Venture X Business compares to its largest competitor, the Platinum Business Card from Amex.

The Venture X Business can’t compete with the Business Platinum card when it comes to luxury perks and credits. But in exchange it’s much easier to offset the Venture X Business’s annual fee with its travel credits compared to the work cardholders will need to do with the Platinum Card. The Venture X Business also comes out ahead on rewards if a significant amount of your spending is on non-travel purchases.
The bottom line
The Venture X Business is an excellent new addition to the business card world, offering business travelers some luxury perks without saddling them with overly restrictive reward categories or an enormous annual fee.
