ATM fees are on the rise, but there are some helpful apps to help you find your banks ATM’s. I’m Lucas Wysocki with your Bankrate.com personal finance minute.
To avoid ATM fees while travelling this holiday season, there are some helpful apps that make finding a network ATM easy. If you use an online bank, accessing your cash used to be especially tricky.
Many banks, both online and brick and mortar have apps designed to help you navigate to their network ATM’s, just search out your bank in the app store and you have ATM locations, maps, and directions at your fingertips.
There are also apps provided by the types of cards you carry. MasterCard has a helpful app that pulls up maps and gives you a number of filter options such as drive-through’s, and 24-hour ATMs.
Finally, apps you’re already using, like 4-square have ATM finding features. 4-square lets you see and leave tips about the ATM, cluing you in to unsafe locations, dirty keypads and other notes. Download one of these apps and you’ll be able to stay in network and avoid pesky ATM fees.
