If you’re a small business owner, you probably want a business credit card. With a business credit card, you can make business purchases without having to put them on a personal credit card. This helps keep your business and personal finances separate. Some business credit cards also offer business-friendly rewards, such as cash back or miles, that you can use to help your business grow.

Capital One offers five business credit cards. Three of them are flat rate cash back rewards cards, and two of them are travel cards that earn Capital One Miles. Unlike other card issuers, Capital One does not offer bonus category business credit cards. This means you won’t be able to get extra rewards for making business purchases in categories like restaurants or office supplies. On the plus side, you’ll get the same cash back or miles reward for every purchase, with no limit on how many rewards you can earn.

The best Capital One business credit card

If you are looking for both high rewards and maximum flexibility, the best Capital One business credit card is the Spark® Cash card. This card offers the most cash back of any Capital One business credit card with an unlimited 2% cash back on all purchases.

The one downside is the $95 annual fee. With a 2% cash back reward, you’d have to spend $4,750 a year to earn $95 in cash back — so if you don’t think you’ll put at least $4,750 on your Capital One Spark® Cash card every year, you might want to apply for the no-annual-fee Spark® Cash Select. On the other hand, if you make $4,500 in purchases with your Spark® Cash card in the first three months of card ownership, you’ll get a bonus $500. That’s enough to balance out five years of annual fees.

If you are a frequent business traveler, you might want to consider the Spark® Miles or the Spark® Miles Select cards. You’ll have slightly less flexibility because you’ll be rewarded in miles instead of cash, but you can use those miles to cut down on your travel expenses. The best Capital One business credit cards require excellent credit. If you aren’t eligible for one of the best business credit cards, the Spark® Classic card is a good way to take care of your business credit card needs while you build your credit.

Capital One business credit cards are designed to be “no hassle” and easy to use. With a flat rate reward in either cash back or miles, no-annual-fee options, and cards designed for people with different credit levels, it shouldn’t be hard to select the best Capital One business credit card for your business.
