Other car insurance coverage for Volkswagens

Volkswagen owners are required to meet their state’s minimum car insurance requirements. Minimum coverage insurance policies typically include personal liability insurance, and personal injury protection (PIP), if you live in a state with no-fault insurance laws. However, most drivers can benefit from optional car insurance coverages to protect themselves financially.

First, you might consider purchasing a full coverage policy to get collision and comprehensive insurance, which protect your vehicle in the event of a covered claim. If you lease or finance your Volkwagen with a loan, having gap insurance can come in handy if your car gets totaled. Another popular policy is accident forgiveness, which will potentially help to keep your car insurance rate from increasing if you get into an accident.

Keep in mind that every car insurance company offers different coverage options. If you are currently insured with a carrier that does not offer the optional coverages you want to take advantage of, you can switch insurance carriers at any time.
