Sales on underwear are everywhere in June.

Lingerie will be deeply discounted at major retailers including Macy’s, Nordstrom and J.C. Penney. “Victoria’s Secret is also known to have their humungous semi-annual sale this month,” adds Sara Skirboll, a shopping and trends expert at RetailMeNot.

Good ole Dad. He deserves a celebration, and retailers are expected to offer deals so he can be honored with the perfect Father’s Day gifts.

RetailMeNot says tool kits, grilling accessories and neckties all went on sale for up to 20 percent off during last year’s Father’s Day weekend.

For some of us, the start of summer brings days-long camping trips with s’mores and campfires.

Don’t have everything you need for the great outdoors? In previous years during June, DealNews has seen good sales on outdoor gear at Wal-Mart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Cabela’s and other retailers. You might find tents for as little as $50, sleeping bags for $10 and fishing reels for just $30.

A fancy label can cost a lot less in June. Designer chains such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger offered discounts of at least 30 percent off men’s clothing and accessories last year, according to RetailMeNot’s experts. They say designer clothing is likely to be marked down as much as 37 percent this time.

With so many people traveling, summer is a slow time for gyms. Who’d pick a treadmill over time at the beach or at the theme parks in Orlando? If you’re not headed out of town, head to the gym and get a deal on a membership.

“If you can’t get a discounted rate, at least try to get a month or two free, no money down, and or free classes and training sessions,” says Benjamin Glaser, features editor at DealNews.

Summer skiing?

If you love skiing and snowboarding and didn’t get enough this winter, California’s Squaw Valley will be open through June. And don’t worry — you should still find some snow on the slopes, because the area got almost 50 feet of it during the winter.

Grab your best rewards credit card and get going! June ski vacationers can expect to pay about $1,760 a week for a two-bedroom rental, versus more than $4,400 during December, according to TripAdvisor Rentals.

For many, June is a time to get back in that garden, pull out weeds and plant some seeds. Retailers are likely to offer dirt-cheap deals on everything you need for getting close to the soil.

“Now that the spring planting season is over, stores are eager to off load excess gardening tools and supplies,” says Glaser, of DealNews. “June provides lots of low prices on sprinklers, mulch, hose nozzles and more.”
