As Missouri students prepare to head back to school, the Show-Me State is giving shoppers a break on sales taxes for certain items. See below for 2015 Missouri tax holiday dates, tax-exempt items and notable rules and exceptions. Limits shown reflect cost per item.

  • Clothing: $100 or less
  • Computer software: $350 or less
  • Personal computers and peripheral devices: $3,500 or less
Notable holiday rules, exceptions Local jurisdictions can opt out, meaning that they will collect those sales tax amounts, but the state’s 4.225 percent tax will remain exempt for qualifying items.
