How do you feel about your job security compared to 12 months ago?

Despite job growth, the percentage of people feeling more secure dropped from March's 19 percent.
The number of people feeling less secure rose from March's 21 percent.
Men were far more likely to feel more secure than women, 24 percent to 9 percent.

That a quarter of Americans feel less secure is no surprise. You can read about things stabilizing all you want, but if offers aren't pouring through your door, it doesn't matter. Companies are just beginning to think "How can we solve these problems?" and haven't posted openings yet. People who are looking around for jobs now should start conversations with line managers about company needs, not openings, and they will be beating the pack.
