Clark Palmer joined Bankrate as a part-time Editorial Assistant in July 2009. He loaded articles into the content management system, managed reader email, ran the Frugal $ense contest and made sure the editorial team had all the supplies they needed, which sometimes included Publix subs on those busy days when there was breaking news.

Clark also wrote personal finance articles on a freelance basis. He covered such topics as: saving money at the movies, having a successful yard sale, money mistakes of NFL players and the risks of buying foreclosures.

Clark became a full-time employee in April 2011 before moving to his current position as a content classifier in the production department in June 2011. His job still consists of loading stories into the content management system. He also reviews styled stories, schedules content and handles editorial requests from the copy desk.

Prior to working at Bankrate, Clark was an editor at LRP Publications. He wrote all of the content for two higher education newsletters and promoted the newsletters at national conferences.

Clark graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in communication. While in college, he was a sports reporter for FAU’s University Press student newspaper.

In his free time, Clark plays guitar, writes fiction and watches a lot of sports.
