Chase and Hyatt have partnered up to launch the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card. As Hyatt’s first business credit card, it offers “adaptive rewards” that adjust based on cardholders’ top spending categories.
According to Chase and Hyatt representatives, the card’s features come from diving deep into small business owner needs.
“We designed the benefits and services of the new World of Hyatt Business Credit Card based on extensive consumer and small business research,” said Ed Olebe, president of Chase co-brand cards.
If you’re a small business owner who’s partial to the Hyatt brand, this card offers plenty of ways to boost credit card rewards based on a combination of spending categories and thresholds. In addition, it offers perks like free employee cards, complimentary roadside assistance, Hyatt credits and more.
There are also benefits that business owners can enjoy in their free time, like rewards on gym memberships and a complimentary one-year subscription to Headspace, the mindfulness and meditation app (terms and conditions apply).
What does the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card offer?
Although the card has a $199 annual fee, it’s poised to offer more rewards value for small business owners whose spending changes from quarter to quarter. Instead of earning rewards on fixed bonus categories, cardholders can earn up to 2X rewards on their top spending categories, and there’s no activation required—all the category tracking is done for you.
Spending categories include dining, plane tickets purchased directly with the airline, car rental agencies, local transit and commuting, gas stations, internet, cable and phone services, social media and search engine advertising and shipping. The reward bonus category will automatically adjust based on your spending for that quarter.
Additional card benefits include no foreign transaction fees, primary rental car collision damage waiver, extended warranty protection, extended warranty protection, trip cancellation/travel interruption insurance and travel and emergency assistance services.
There are several features to help you earn and redeem rewards when you spend with the 19 brands and more than 1,000 locations worldwide that participate in World of Hyatt. If you are a World of Hyatt Business Credit cardholder, you get a higher rewards rate when spending at Hyatt properties (up to 9X points), automatic Discoverist status, $100 in Hyatt credits each anniversary year, plus opportunities to earn free nights, elite status, room and suite upgrades and other rewards.
Who is the new World of Hyatt Business Card ideal for?
The World of Hyatt Business Card could be a solid option if you spend in the bonus categories often and travel plays a significant role in your business. And if you prefer Hyatt properties, this card’s rewards structure could reward your brand loyalty.
