How Heidi Klum’s net worth was built

Supermodel Heidi Klum’s career started in 1992 when she competed in a modeling competition on a German TV station at the age of 18. She beat over 25,000 contestants and won a three-year modeling contract with one of New York’s top modeling agencies, Metropolitan Models.

Klum first hit the Victoria’s Secret runway in 2002, and she hosted the brand’s annual runway extravaganza until 2009. Being a Victoria’s Secret Angel helped raise Klum’s profile and exposure within the modeling business. She earned $14 million from Victoria’s Secret in 2008. She rose to supermodel status in 1998 when she appeared on the cover of the “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit issue. She has since appeared in “Harper’s Bazaar,” “Elle,” “Marie Claire” and “Vogue.”

Klum also built her fortune through her fashion lines, endorsements for big brands, and her TV work, including the successful reality show, “Project Runway,” for which she is executive producer, judge and co-host. Her earnings increased to $20 million in 2011, even after ending her Victoria’s Secret modeling career. As of June 2017, Klum’s net worth is $90 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
