How Axl Rose’s net worth was built

Axl Rose was born William Bruce Rose Jr. and grew up in Indiana. His father left his family when Rose was a toddler.

He often got in trouble with the law and spent some time in jail. When he was forced to make a decision between criminality and a clean start, he chose the latter and moved to Los Angeles in 1982. There, he joined a band called AXL, which influenced Rose to legally change his name to W. Axl Rose.

In L.A., Rose worked many jobs to support himself and his musical endeavors. He formed Guns N’ Roses, and the band released its first EP in 1986. The following year, the band released its debut album, “Appetite for Destruction,” launching the group into the stratosphere with smash hits like “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

Rose became known for his charismatic, lively performances. He also became known for being consistently late for performances, sometimes showing up several hours behind schedule. In the late 1990s, the band members went their separate ways but did not officially break up.

Guns N’ Roses was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. The band’s success rocketed Rose’s net worth to $150 million as of April 2017, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Axl Rose got rich playing hard rock, but a funkier sound fuels Bruno Mars’ fortune.
