After last week's pause, rates on certificates of deposit resumed their fall in the most recent rate survey.
The average one-year CD yield is down 1 basis point to 0.36 percent. The average five-year CD yield fell 2 basis points to 1.2 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.
For deposits of $100,000, the average one-year jumbo CD yield is down 1 basis point to 0.4 percent, and the five-year CD yield fell 1 basis point to 1.25 percent.
There is some good news. The average money market account gained back the 1 basis point it lost last week and is now 0.15 percent.
