National CD rates for Sept. 6, 2012

Rates on certificates of deposit were relatively mixed this week.

The one-year CD yield lost 1 basis point to put it at 0.3 percent. The five-year CD yield is unchanged at 1.02 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.

For a deposit of $100,000, the average one-year jumbo CD yield remains at 0.33 percent. For a five-year jumbo CD, the average yield is unchanged at 1.03 percent.

The average money market account yield is 0.12 percent for the ninth consecutive week.
