National CD rates for June 14, 2012

Once again, rates on certificates of deposit were down or unchanged from last week.

The average one-year CD yield is 0.32 percent for the second straight week. The average five-year CD yield is down 1 basis point to 1.11 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.

For jumbo CDs, or deposits of $100,000, the average one-year yield remains 0.35 percent. The average five-year jumbo CD yield is still 1.13 percent.

The average money market account yield is 0.13 percent for the 12th week.
