National CD rates for April 5, 2012

CD rates inched one notch closer to zero in this week's rate survey.

The average one-year CD yield lost a basis point to 0.33 percent. Also down 1 basis point, the average five-year yield is 1.14 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.

For deposits of $100,000, the average one-year jumbo CD yield is still 0.36 percent. Also unchanged, the five-year jumbo CD yield is 1.16 percent.

The average money market account yield is 0.13 percent for the second week.
