Rates on jumbo certificates of deposit, or CDs, dropped slightly in this week's rate survey.

The average one-year CD yield is 0.34 percent for the third consecutive week. The typical five-year yield is still 1.15 percent.

For deposits of $100,000, the average one-year jumbo CD yield is down 1 basis point to 0.36 percent. Also down 1 basis point, the five-year jumbo CD yield is 1.17 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.


The average money market account yield is 0.14 percent for the second week.
