Rates on certificates of deposit have whipsawed over the past two weeks.

The average one-year CD yield is up 1 basis point to 0.35 percent. The average five-year yield is down 1 basis point to 1.15 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.

For deposits of $100,000, the average one-year jumbo CD yield is unchanged at 0.37 percent. The yield on a five-year jumbo CD is down 1 basis point to 1.18 percent.

The average money market account yield is 0.13 percent for the ninth week.
