Here's a look at the state of mortgage rates from Bankrate.com's weekly national survey of large banks and thrifts conducted Dec. 23, 2009.

CDs

Yields: 0.82 percent (1-year CD yield); 2.1 percent (5-year CD yield)

According to this week's interest rate survey, the average yield for one-year CDs held tight to last week's rate of 0.82 percent. The yield for five-year CDs inched up 2 basis points to 2.1 percent.

For a deposit of $100,000, the one-year average yield remains at 0.89 percent. The average yield on a five-year jumbo CD is up 1 basis point to 2.12 percent.

The yield on money market accounts remained at last week's rate of 0.24 percent.
