Auto loan rates were flat this week.
The average rates for 60-month and 48-month new-car loans stayed parked at 4.37 percent and 4.22 percent, respectively.
Used-car loans were also flat, with the average rate for a 36-month used-car loan holding steady at 5.01 percent.
This week, Ford issued a recall of 150,000 Fiestas from model years 2011 to 2013 over concerns that the side-impact air bags could fail to inflate during an accident. The fault lies with improper programming, which switches off the air bags in the back seat if the front passenger seat is empty, according to the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration.
