Rates on loans backed by home equity scarcely moved at all in Bankrate's weekly survey.

The typical home equity loan's rate was unchanged, at 6.79 percent. The typical home equity line of credit, or HELOC, fell 1 basis point to 5.52 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of a percentage point.
