Credit Cards
- 13.81% (all fixed)
- 14.52% (all variable)
Credit card rates stayed steady this week, according to Bankrate's latest survey of interest rates. The average annual percentage rate, or APR, for variable-rate credit cards remained unchanged at 14.52 percent for the fifth straight week. The fixed APR stayed at 13.81 percent, where it has been since the start of March.
On Tuesday, the Federal Trade Commission said almost 4,500 credit card holders will get refunds after telemarketers falsely promised to lower their interest rates for an upfront fee. Victims will receive checks in amounts between $31 and $1,300, depending on how much they lost in the so-called robocall scam. The FTC didn't specify when the checks will be mailed.
