- 5.43% (line of credit)
- 7.09% (loan)
Here's a look at the state of home equity rates from Bankrate.com's weekly national survey of large banks and thrifts conducted Nov. 17, 2010.
Home equity-related loans were little changed in the latest Bankrate survey.
The average rate on a home equity line of credit, or HELOC, declined slightly, to 5.43 percent from 5.45 percent.
The inverse was true with home equity loans, although, as with HELOCs, the change was small. Home equity loans had an average rate of 7.09 percent, up two basis points from 7.07 percent.
