Credit Cards
- 13.36% (all fixed)
- 14.4% (all variable)
Credit card rates stayed steady from last week, according to Bankrate's latest survey of interest rates. The average APR for variable-rate credit cards remained at 14.4 percent, while the fixed rate stood at 13.36 percent. It hasn't budged all year.
Credit card issuers are required to send out new credit score disclosures starting Thursday. Consumers who receive less-than-favorable terms on a loan or line of credit will receive the credit score used to make that decision along with additional information about the score. Consumers who are denied credit will also get the disclosure. The goal is to make consumers more aware of how their financial behavior affects access to, and the pricing of, credit.
