Credit Cards
- 13.36% (all fixed)
- 14.39% (all variable)
The average annual percentage rate, or APR, for variable-rate credit cards edged downward to 14.39 percent, according to Bankrate's latest survey of interest rates. The fixed rate remained at 13.36 percent, where it has stayed all year.
A TransUnion study released Tuesday showed that fewer credit card holders are falling behind on their bills. The percentage of borrowers who are at least 90 days late on their credit card payments fell to the lowest level in 17 years. That marked the sixth consecutive quarterly decline and the largest drop since the recovery began in 2008.
