What are banker's hours?

The Bankrate.com financial term of the day is: "Banker's Hours"

"Banker's hours" is an outdated term for the seemingly cushy workdays and workweeks in the banking business. Banks used to close early and observe a lot of holidays. In these more competitive times, bank branches keep longer hours and may be open on Saturdays and even Sundays.

Your banker probably no longer keeps banker's hours, the shorter schedules of a bygone era in banking.
