Bugatti

Bringing new meaning to the term “sports car,” Bugatti unveiled its latest sports car 1 day ahead of the Geneva auto show.

The Bugatti Chiron will be the most powerful, fastest and most exclusive production sports car in the world when it goes on sale this fall. Owning a car with all these top honors comes with a high price tag: $2.6 million, to be exact.

An 8-liter engine

The massive, 8-liter W16 engine uses 4 turbochargers with Bugatti’s new 2-stage turbocharging system to produce 1,500 horsepower. It travels from 0 to 62 miles per hour (or 100 kilometers per hour) in 2.5 seconds.

Its top speed will be limited to 261 mph for what Bugatti calls “road use.” The carbon fiber body houses 1 of the most luxurious interiors of any car currently in production.

Only 500 will be produced

If you are ready to buy a Bugatti Chiron, better get in line quick. Production is limited to 500 cars and one-third of the cars already have been ordered.

The new Bugatti Chiron shares some styling similarities to this video-game car that Bugatti brought to life last year.
