4 affordable sports sedans at Detroit show
The new 2015 Acura TLX will go on sale in the middle of 2014. Officially introduced at the North American International Auto Show as a prototype, the TLX that was unveiled will bear a close resemblance to the car that goes into production.
The TLX will be 3.8 inches shorter than the current TL, though the wheelbase remains the same. Acura says that despite the more compact footprint, it expects the performance sedan to still feature the most spacious interior of all the cars in its class with comfortable seating for five adults.
The 2015 Acura TLX will be offered in two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations and come with two engine options. There will be a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 3.5-liter, direct-injected V-6 mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission designed to provide more performance without compromising fuel efficiency. All models will have an integrated dynamics system that features four driving modes to allow for a personalized driving experience, adjusting the throttle response, power steering and other functions to suit the driver's preference.
