4 affordable sports sedans at Detroit show
Subaru WRX STI
Subaru has redesigned its WRX STI for the 2015 model year and also will offer a special "launch edition" model. This redesigned sports sedan features new exterior styling, including a functional hood scoop that supplies the intercooler with fresh air. It is now set more deeply into the hood to provide improved visibility over the current model.
The design includes a windshield that is more steeply raked to further improve visibility, while lower side sills and wider opening doors make exit and entry easier. Rear-seat legroom has been improved by almost 2 inches, while trunk capacity has increased from 11.3 cubic feet to 12 cubic feet.
The 2015 Subaru WRX STI is powered by a 305-horsepower, 2.5-liter turbocharged Boxer engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while a stiffer chassis helps make steering response even quicker. Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, all-wheel drive, heated front seats with Alcantara fabric accented by red and black leather bolsters and featuring a whiplash-reducing design with height- and tilt-adjustable head restraints.
