Lenders willing to work with bad credit

q_v2.gifDear Terry,
My boyfriend is interested in buying a nice used car. His credit is not good but he has saved up a few thousand dollars. Could you provide me with a list of online lenders or financial lenders who help people with bad credit?
-- Cynthia

a_v2.gifDear Cynthia,
There are a wide range of lenders who cater to people with less-than-perfect credit. I can't endorse any one of them, but here's a few that you can start with -- BarNone.com, CreditOneBank.com and eLoan.com.

Most lenders have programs for people with bad credit. Just make sure you shop around for the best interest rate and read the terms of the loan carefully, including any penalties for an early payoff.

Here are this week's reader questions:
  • Sedan shoppers find buyer's market
  • Can I get a refund on my deposit?
  • Will bad credit sink my loan prospects?
  • I co-signed -- is my credit doomed?

Cars may be slightly less affordable, but this is still one of the best times in history to buy a car.
