Warranty: 5 years, 60,000 miles
Mitsubishi Outlander
While Mitsubishi may have more of a reputation for performance than reliability, the brand is no slouch in terms of building cars that last and backs its cars with a 10-year, 100,000-mile power train warranty to prove it. The Outlander, which ranked high in the 2009 Initial Quality Study by J.D. Power and Associates, is powered by a 168-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.0-liter V-6 that gets either 213 or 220 horsepower, depending on the trim level. It is available in front-wheel or four-wheel-drive. The base model seats five, while the two higher trim levels come equipped with three rows to seat seven.
