The Silverado HD is for the serious hauler who doesn't need frills.
Among the leaders in work trucks for payload, the Silverado boasts a redesigned chassis that allows for massive towing. This Herculean work truck can handle a 6,000-pound snowplow and tow up to 21,700 pounds if using fifth-wheel trailering.
Chevy promises an 11 percent improvement in highway fuel economy over the 2010 models, offering up to 680 highway miles between fill-ups.
The Silverado also has improved maneuvering through General Motors' StabiliTrak braking system. If there is a patch of ice, the driver will be able to apply brake pressure to the appropriate wheel to regain control.
