The Borrego represents Kia’s first foray into full-size SUVs. Typical of this Korean manufacturer, a lot of value is packed into this package.
Seating: The Borrego is a seven-passenger vehicle.
Cargo: There is only 12.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seat, but this swells to 97.6 cubic feet with the second- and third-row seats folded flat. The second-row seat also slides forward providing access for third-row passengers. The rear seats recline.
Convenience: The open lift gate can provide shelter from the weather. Auxiliary 12-volt power sources are scattered from the front all the way into the cargo area.
Features: Power is provided through either a 276-horsepower V-6 or a 337-horsepower V-8. Both are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. A six-speaker audio system with CD player, USB port and auxiliary input jack provides the entertainment.
Price: From $26,995 for the 2WD V-6 LX to $40,745 for the AWD Limited with the V-8 engine.
