Credit card rates remained unchanged this week, according to Bankrate's latest survey of interest rates. The average annual percentage rate, or APR, for variable-rate credit cards didn't budge from 14.49 percent. The fixed APR stayed steady at 13.81 percent for the fourth consecutive week.
Global Payments said this week that it suffered a security breach that exposed debit card and credit card data of up to 1.5 million consumers in North America. Visa removed the payment processor from its list of preferred servicers last week after news of the breach leaked. Cardholders are encouraged to monitor their card transactions for any suspicious activity.
