A blend of Mediterranean and Polynesian styles, this 10-year-old house sits on more than a quarter-acre in Kihei, on the island of Maui.
"When you walk in the front door, you walk up a few steps to the living room -- which has an amazing ocean view," says Tom Tezak, broker and owner of Wailea Realty Corp.
Finished with exotic woods (like bamboo, mahogany and eucalyptus), it uses glass walls and smart design to take full advantage of the backdrop, he says.
Virtually every room has postcard-worthy views, including sites like the West Maui Mountains, the Molokini Sanctuary and several other islands, Tezak says.
And the free-form pool has been "elevated above the backyard" so that it, too, has a view of the Pacific, he says.
Also, the house is built to host friends and family, he says. Not only does it have four master suites, but also the main one can be cordoned off from the house. And a kitchenette convenient to the other three suites -- complete with refrigerator, toaster oven, blender and sink -- allows guests to fix a quick breakfast or lunch, he says.
"You can have company come, and you can give them their space," says Tezak, "yet still have your privacy."
