The FBI, along with authorities in the United Kingdom, last week shut down 36 websites that sold stolen credit card numbers. Undercover FBI agents bought credit card numbers from the sites and then verified with banks that the sites were unauthorized to sell the numbers. The credit card numbers originally were issued by Bank of America, SunTrust and Capital One.
