Credit Cards
- 13.81% (all fixed)
- 14.52% (all variable)
Credit card rates remained unchanged this week, according to Bankrate's latest survey of interest rates. The average annual percentage rate, or APR, for variable-rate credit cards stayed steady at 14.52 percent for the seventh straight week. The fixed APR was 13.81 percent, where it remained since the beginning of March.
If people's ability to pay their credit card bills is any indication, it looks like the economy might be getting better. Credit card delinquency data released this week by the credit bureau Experian show that the number of accounts more than 60 days delinquent in July was down 21 percent compared to July 2011.
