Politically correct and at the conservation end of the oil-burning spectrum, a host of stars putt-putt around Hollywood, Vail and Miami's South Beach in hybrid gas and electric-powered vehicles from Honda and Toyota.

Syndicated columnist Arianna Huffington turned in her Lexus and her 13-mile-per-gallon Lincoln Navigator SUV for a gas-sipping Toyota Prius that gets more than 50 miles per gallon and, in most states, gives drivers full access to HOV or commuter lanes.

It also is a head-turner, the Texas attention-getter reported. "It drew a crowd in a parking lot full of Jaguars and BMWs," says Arianna.

Cameron Diaz

Some celebs like the little car because it doesn't call attention to them, and they're firmly on the use-less-gas platform.

Prius owners Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Billy Joel, David Duchovny and Bill Maher have all sung the praises of the car they hope will slow global warming and make OPEC nations less wealthy. "Seinfeld" creator Larry David bought three of the $20,000 Toyotas, and DiCaprio and his family own four of the hybrids. "We drive them all over Los Angeles," he says.
