How Pitbull’s net worth was built

Pitbull was born Armando Christian Pérez to Cuban immigrants. Shortly after his birth, his father, a drug peddler, left the family, and his mother was forced to raise him on her own, with eventual help from a foster family from Roswell, Georgia. He learned English from the children’s TV program “Sesame Street.”

Pitbull’s love of words was sparked when he discovered Jose Marti, a renowned Cuban poet, at the age of 3. After he graduated high school, he fervently pursued music. Inspired by the “crunk” sound of artists Willy Chirino and Celia Cruz, Pitbull caught his big break when artist Lil Jon, known as the master of crunk, featured him on his 2002 album, “Kings of Crunk.”

From there, Pitbull’s career began to escalate. In 2004, he released his first solo album, “M.I.A.M.I.,” with TVT Records, topping the charts with hits like “Culo,” “Back Up” and “Toma.” The album solidified his name in the industry and for the next decade Pitbull would continue to build his musical empire, drawing massive, crunk-loving crowds to his concerts. To date, he has sold more than 70 million singles.

Pitbull also endorses products such as Bud Light, Dr. Pepper and Kodak, and he has started his own clothing line, After Dark. His net worth as of March 2017 is $65 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
