Rates on certificates of deposit were a mixed bag in this week's survey. The average one-year CD yield was 0.25 percent for the sixth week. The average five-year yield was down 1 basis point to 0.78 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.
For a deposit of $100,000, the one-year jumbo CD yield lost 1 basis point to 0.27 percent. The five-year jumbo CD yield was 0.81 percent for the third consecutive week.
Also for the third week, the average money market account yield was 0.11 percent.
