Compare car repair cost in US by region
If you drive an older car, car repairs are a given, so it makes sense to budget for them. To determine average car repair costs by region in 2015, the 2016 CarMD Vehicle Health Index assessed a range of cars that were:
- 5 years old.
- 10 years old.
- 15 years old.
Car repair costs were down slightly compared with 2014, with a 1.5% increase in the cost of parts, offset by a 4% decrease in average labor costs, according to CarMD. Overall, car repair costs in different parts of the country are equalizing, but there are still discrepancies.
