Ellen wheels and deals
After losing a frantic, three-day, all-cash bidding war against
"Friends" star Courteney Cox and actor husband David Arquette, Ellen
DeGeneres wasted no time in her house hunt, laying out $6 million for another
real estate bauble she found nearby on a two-acre lot.
DeGeneres jumped on the 4,800-square-foot home originally constructed
in the 1930s but recently rebuilt and renovated to include a main house with
a screening room and a separate guesthouse with office and gym.
Once she moved to her new pad, the comedienne, whose new daytime
talk show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will premiere in September,
put her five-bedroom, 5,500 square-foot traditional Beverly Hills home on the
market for $4.75 million.
Just 10 years old, it's got a spectacular media room, pool and
meticulously groomed grounds.
