Average minimum to open a noninterest account

Over the years that Bankrate has been conducting the survey, the average minimum required to open a noninterest account has been a model of consistency. In the past six years, the average has fluctuated between $55.39 and $67.37.

This time around, the average is $56.97, down from $60.61 in the spring, but well within the established range.
