Average yield in interest-bearing
accounts

the most recent version of the checking study.
The
money earned in an interest-bearing account is no justification
for tying up a balance, nor is it enough to offset any fees
incurred.
The average yield recovered slightly
from the record low seen in the spring as the Fed boosted
short-term interest rates.
However, the movement was nearly
imperceptible, with the average yield moving from 0.26 percent
to 0.28 percent in the past six months. One year ago, the
average yield was 0.27 percent.
