The all-wheel-drive Subaru Outback receives its first major redesign since 2005. Like Subaru’s Legacy sedan, the Outback boasts more rear-seat room and enhanced fuel economy. There are two models, each named after their engines: the 2.5i and the 3.6R. Both are available in three trim levels: base, Premium and Limited. While a fraction shorter than its predecessor, Outback’s ground clearance has increased to 8.7 inches. All trim levels come equipped with keyless entry and tilt/telescopic steering wheel with cruise control and audio buttons as well as upgraded interior materials. Options such as a moonroof, navigation system and all-weather package are available on select trim levels. Engine choices include a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a 256-horsepower, 3.6-liter six-cylinder. Six airbags and electronic stability control are standard on all models.
