Credit cards: Enter up to 5 credit card accounts, one on each line.
Balance: Your current balance on your credit card.
Interest rate: The annual percentage rate you pay on this credit card. The rate you enter is used to calculate the interest on all future payments for the credit card. The length of time to payoff this credit card may be much greater than calculated if you enter a low promotional interest rate that is only fixed for short period of time.
Payment: This is your initial minimum monthly payment. Your minimum monthly payment is calculated as 2% of your current outstanding balance. While your actual minimum monthly payment may be slightly different, this is one of the most common methods used by credit card companies to calculate minimum payments.
Credit limit: This is the total amount of credit you have on this credit card. The optimizer will not allow you to have credit card balances that are over your credit limit.

Credit card tip
Never just pay the minimum. By paying the smallest amount of your bill instead of paying it off every month, you allow the card companies to make money off of you by charging interest. This also makes a charge more expensive.
Credit card tip
Pay your bill on time. If you don't pay your bill by the due date, you face late fees of up to $39, along with interest-rate hikes. Just being one day late on your payment could cause your 3 percent interest card to jump up to 22 percent or more in some cases.
Credit card tip
If you want a better rate, sometimes all you have to do is ask. If you are a good customer who pays on time and doesn't go over your credit limit, you card issuer wants to keep you as a client. Give them a call and see what they are willing to do for you.
Quality Assurance
Compare rate with confidence. Rates are accurate and available as of the date seen for Bankrate consumers. Identify yourself as a Bankrate consumer to get the Bankrate.com rate.
