With basic Chase Checking, consumers who establish monthly direct deposits or use their debit card for five or more purchases pay no monthly service fees and are not required to keep a minimum balance. Without direct deposit or these debit card purchases, the monthly fee is $6.

Chase customers can make on-the-go account transfers and view updated account balance information with online and mobile banking. Chase members can enroll in an Account Alerts program that sends them e-mail and text notifications to avoid overdraft fees. With Chase mobile banking, users can receive essential account info via text message including account balances, recent transaction history and credit card due dates and payment amounts.
